Specially commissioned to celebrate the 10th anniversary of The Hepworth Wakefield. The title 'Ascending Forms' references the plants in The Hepworth Wakefield garden, the swirls of pigeons around our neighbouring mills and the sculpture Ascending Form (Gloria) by Barbara Hepworth.
Clare Curtis studied illustration and printmaking at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art in Dundee. After spending time in London developing a career in illustration, she returned to her hometown of Felixstowe in Suffolk to pursue her love of printmaking. Her work reflects her passion for British 20th century art and design and although the subject matter may vary, her love of plants and gardens means they inevitably find their way into much of her work.
Printed in Yorkshire with Penfold Press.
