A medium stackable cup. This piece has been inspired by the revival of Brutalist architecture, employing classic Brutalist aesthetics like heavy forms and asymmetrical proportions, along with design philosophies embodied in the architecture including Form Follows Function and Truth to Materials.
Emma Johnson specialises in slipcasting in porcelain at her Brighton studio. Her functional homewares are often based around architecture, incorporating precise, angular forms and a degree of buildability into the pieces.
