Babs Pease was the winner of last year’s Hepworth Wakefield Print Fair Prize, 2023. Pease is an artist and printmaker working from a small farm in Perthshire, located in the very heart of central Scotland. She is inspired by the landscape of the surrounding Ochils – a long range of steeply sided, round topped hills, stretching 25 miles from the Firth of Tay to Stirling – and the rich variety of flora and fauna within it. Her designs, which include limited edition prints, greeting cards and home textiles, are hand carved onto linocut blocks and then hand-printed using an antique Victorian relief press.
